Analyst, Financial Modeling & Reporting

Overview

We are looking for a highly quantitative thinker with a passion for financial analysis and building complex financial models.  The role sits in our Strategic Finance & Analytics (SF&A) team and will work with different areas, such as supply chain, affiliate partners, sales & marketing and corporate finance support, working closely with colleagues on such teams. Ultimately, this position can lead to a more senior position within SF&A or across Sunrun.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models in our Anaplan tool

• Analyze data in our Oracle and SalesForce databases

While this position will initially be dedicated to supporting our affiliate partner and supply chain areas, the role may transition to support other areas of the business as well. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to get familiar with distributed renewable energy

• Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support corporate decision-making

• Provide robust reporting to support our monthly actuals analysis and forecasting, our quarterly earnings release, and annual budgeting processes

• Support the creation of executive presentations for regular reporting

• Supply chain related:

  • Develop deep understanding of the drivers of our materials costs, working closely with supply chain team to model COGS and inventory

  • Analyze freight and logistics costs and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Manage headcount forecasting
    

• Affiliate Partner related:

  • Develop understanding of our partner pricing structure and support forecasting of pricing and turnkey payments

  • Perform analysis on the reconciliation of actual results vs. forecast to inform operational reporting

  • Support the review of new partner opportunities

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree with top grades in a quantitative discipline

• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in complex modeling/quantitative role 

• Highly analytical brain, as evidenced by education, past roles, & achievements

• Passion for financial analysis and financial modeling

• High attention to detail

• Aptitude for programming that is translatable to Anaplan

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Collaborative team player

• Comfort with fast-paced, demanding environment

• Impeccable judgment & ethics

• Rigorous coursework in finance and accounting

• Work experience in Finance (FP&A, investment banking, consulting, Big Four)

• Work experience in a large company

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in solar finance 

• Experience in inventory planning or logistics 

• Experience in Anaplan or similar planning tool 

• Experience in Tableau, Oracle, SalesForce 

• Programming experience

The starting salary for this opportunity ranges from $73,477.00 - $122,462.00. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
