Sr Product Manager - EV Charging

You'll be the driving force behind many of our next-gen home energy solutions; blending solar power, batteries, EV charging/V2X, residential electrification, and smart home devices. Collaborating with a talented team, you'll have the chance to tackle complex customer and business problems, using your knowledge of residential distributed energy technologies to create outstanding experiences for our customers while propelling Sunrun's growth.
Your key responsibilities will include ideating and evaluating cutting-edge product concepts, ensuring that they cater to customer needs and can scale seamlessly and profitably. You'll discover customer needs, develop business cases, define requirements and success metrics, orchestrate cross-functional product launches, and diligently monitor key metrics post-launch to refine your products over time.
Initially, you'll focus on residential EV charging products and services and vehicle-to-grid solutions, including working closely with Ford on our V2X partnership. Your strong understanding of EV charging and grid services technologies, business models, and regulatory landscape will be invaluable as you expand your expertise into other areas of residential electrification over time.
As a Home Energy Solutions Product Manager, you'll have the chance to work closely with a diverse range of business functions like Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Policy, Finance, Operations, and Technology & Engineering Teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead product management for key elements of Sunrun’s electrification product portfolio, initially focused on home electric vehicle charging and vehicle-to-X (V2X) solutions.
Show up as Sunrun’s expert on the customer needs, business drivers, market & policy landscape, and technology options related to your products. Drive strategic product decisions accordingly.
Own solution innovation in your domain, discovering differentiated approaches to meet our customer’s unmet needs. Prioritize opportunities with data-informed analysis and a well honed product sense. Ensure that the products you champion support and enhance Sunrun’s overall offer portfolio.
Develop product requirements and influence technology partner roadmaps in close collaboration with product applications engineering, supply chain, supplier quality, and software teams.
Understand, articulate the value, and manage the impact of new products on sales, operations, and customer service teams.
Collaborate with software product teams to optimize customer- and sales- facing digital experiences, and meet Grid Services business requirements.
Collaborate closely with strategic external partners.
Coordinate with Sunrun's policy team to shape regulations and anticipate changes affecting product strategy.
Excel as an individual contributor, leveraging data, logic, and storytelling to manage by influence and cultivate support for investment into product enablement and launch.
REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)
Passionate about Sunrun's mission to Create a Planet Run by the Sun.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
4-6 years of product management experience related to distributed energy systems. Experience in electric vehicle charging is preferred.
Proficiency in spreadsheet based financial analysis and techno-economic modeling is required. Practical experience with Python, SQL, Tableau, or similar for data analysis, visualization and modeling is preferred.
Familiar with agile/iterative product discovery methodologies. Direct experience in applying these approaches to hardware products in a consumer context is preferred.
Proven track record of developing products or offers from concept to launch and iteration.
Adept at matrix leadership of cross-functional teams.
High EQ, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with diverse colleagues at Sunrun and externally, and empathize with customers.
Skilled at simplifying complex concepts for non-expert audiences.
Creative thinker and problem solver with a can-do attitude.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$110,103.00 to $146,804.00Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards. Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). A candidate’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
