Overview

As an Infrastructure Team engineer you are responsible for helping with various aspects of the cloud infrastructure and development operations. This includes helping support development teams through creation of CI/CD scripts, configuration of cloud infrastructure and supporting environment issues. You are expected to have a firm grasp of several concepts including: Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery, and familiarity with platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Github.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud provisioning tasks for both lower and production environments in AWS.

• Help set best practices with modern cloud technologies such as docker and serverless functions. 

• Support creation of CI/CD pipelines with Github Actions and Jenkins. 

• Support development teams with any specific cloud needs. 

• Ensure security best practices are being followed. 

• Work between various development teams, security teams and other members of the technology team. 

• Help triage and support production outages or issues. 

• Writing code to automate processes, or create tools for the development teams. 

• Drive projects to completion and proactively address blocking issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience

• Experience with AWS and related products (such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, App Gateway and similar)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and tooling like CDK , Terraform, Cloudformation

• Experience with Giithub and Github Actions

• Experience writing code (Python, Java, Node.js, Bash preferred)

• Experience creating runbooks for production software. 

• Experience with T1 and T2 support teams

• Ability to work well across departments for internal tech support

• Ability to be on-call after hours (every 6-8 weeks)

• Excellent documentation skills 

• Compliance experience

• Familiarity with disaster recovery best practices

The starting salary/wage for this opportunity is:

$178,000 to $217,000

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
