Accounts Payable Clerk

Overview

Accounts Payable Clerk that will report directly to the Accounts Payable Manager.  The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring that invoices are properly and accurately entered, accounted for, and paid.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit employee expense reports. 

• Review and audit vendor invoices, employee expense reports and payment requests to customers.

• Establish best practices related to invoice and payment processing, including matching invoices to Purchase Orders and Check Requests.

• Ensure that invoices are coded to the appropriate General Ledger (GL) accounts based on GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures.

• Ensure that proper controls are in place to reduce or eliminate opportunities for fraud, waste, and/or abuse.

• Assist with vendor setup by obtaining and reviewing vendor W9 and communicating with potential vendors throughout the process.

• Identify and remove obstacles in end-to-end process.

• Special projects as manager dictates.

• File and maintain physical and digital vendor files. 

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to create and maintain Microsoft Excel reports, and experience with Microsoft Office products.

• General Ledger coding knowledge preferred.

• Extreme attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP experience.
