As a Corporate Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, executing, and measuring all internal communications needs across Sunrun’s field operations (the group responsible for designing and installing home solar systems). Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, this role will require high levels of collaboration with business leaders and managers, and is expected to develop appropriate internal communications that drive excitement, engagement, align teams, and shape culture. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to execute communications plans, strong writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results.

The marketing team primarily works remotely, so this position can be located anywhere within the United States. Some travel may be required for in-person meetings. Responsibilities

• Help create a best-in-class internal communications function that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, and positively impacts the business

• Proactively coordinate with leadership groups to gather communication needs

• Develop communication materials using a variety of tactics, including written communications, presentation materials, small group meetings, etc.

• Ensure communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate, and integrated with Sunrun’s priorities and brand

• Plan and send communications to the appropriate internal audiences

• Work closely with teams to drive strategies and plans for effective communications

• Manage audience-specific roadmaps and schedules

• Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of internal employee events as needed

• Update the company’s intranet with relevant and timely information 

• Be a liaison with the corporate communications team

• Measure and analyze communication metrics to influence decisions and approach

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing or a related field

• 3+ years of relevant communications experience

• Demonstrated previous experience in copywriting with superior grammar, editing and proofreading skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Outstanding organizational and planning abilities

• Team mindset, strong collaboration skills

• Can take full ownership of assigned projects and work independently as needed

• Self-motivated problem solver and learner

• Handles change well, adaptable and energized by challenges

• Strong technical/computer skills (Office/Gsuite, CRM, etc.)

• Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection

• Preferred but not required:

  • Background in solar or cleantech industry

  • Experience working on internal communications team

  • Experience building measurement strategies

  • Experience with internal communications software/intranet
