LMS Specialist

The LMS Specialist is the lead functional expert responsible for the comprehensive management, optimization, and support of the organization's Learning Management System (LMS). This critical role bridges the gap between learning strategy, program delivery, and technology by overseeing the system's daily administration, executing complex configurations, and providing strategic data analysis to ensure the LMS effectively meets all organizational learning and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Course Management
Oversee Daily Operations: Handle all aspects of system governance, including managing user accounts, permissions, security roles, and system-wide settings.
Content Lifecycle Management: Set up, configure, and maintain online courses, learning paths, and curricula, ensuring all learning materials are uploaded, organized, and function correctly across various devices.
Advanced Configuration: Design and implement complex system configurations such as automated enrollment rules, dynamic user groups, compliance tracking logic, and system integration points (e.g., Single Sign-On).
System Maintenance: Monitor system performance, coordinate with IT for updates and patches, and conduct regular system audits and quality checks to ensure data integrity and a consistent user experience.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
User Support & Training: Provide expert-level technical support, handling Tier 2 escalations for complex user issues, content playback problems, and system errors.
LMS Expertise: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all advanced LMS features, optimal configuration settings, and technical standards.
System Integration: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integration with other business platforms (e.g. Workday).
Reporting & Strategic Analysis
Data Management: Develop, maintain, and execute complex reports and data extracts required for business analysis and regulatory/compliance mandates.
Performance Analysis: Analyze learning data to identify usage trends, course completion bottlenecks, and areas for system or content improvement.
Stakeholder Reporting: Create and manage dynamic learning dashboards for various stakeholder groups (e.g., department managers, compliance officers) to communicate learning effectiveness and system usage.
Collaboration & Consulting
Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary technical liaison, consulting with Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and training teams to recommend the best LMS tools and structures for content delivery and learner engagement.
System Governance: Document and enforce established governance policies, translating technical limitations and possibilities into clear, functional guidance for non-technical teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Technical Expertise
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated LMS Administration or Analyst role, demonstrating a progression in complexity and responsibility.
LMS Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in at least one enterprise LMS platform preferably Docebo
E-Learning Standards: Deep understanding of e-learning technical standards and the technical requirements for content to function correctly and track properly.
Data & Reporting: Solid experience in developing and managing complex queries using an LMS's native reporting tool or SQL-based reporting.
Core Competencies
Technical Troubleshooting: Exceptional technical and troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement lasting solutions for systemic issues.
Communication: Excellent consulting, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, functional guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborative and Service-Oriented
Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to manage data, analyze trends, and leverage learning metrics to assess program effectiveness and inform system optimization.
Digital Tools: Familiarity with the Microsoft Office or Google Suite and modern digital tools. Knowledge of online learning principles and e-learning development tools is highly beneficial.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
