Who We Are

We’re on a mission to make energy more reliable and affordable for more people. We provide an opportunity with storage and solar to help people access greater energy independence without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the country and has a mission to bring stably priced resilient power to the masses.

Position Summary

Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar company in the United States with a fleet of over 1.2M systems. As a Staff Revenue Enablement Specialist within Post-PTO Effectiveness, you are the senior-most execution expert driving high-impact initiatives to generate additional revenue from Sunrun’s service-related products across our customer fleet.

Operating with full autonomy, you own the end-to-end design and rollout of process automations, sales/service enablement tools, and playbooks that empower frontline service, care, and field teams to attach, cross-sell, and upsell post-PTO service offerings (e.g., service plans, system upgrades, battery add-ons, coverage packages, and maintenance products).

You set the execution standard for the team and serve as the organizational authority on optimizing commercial metrics—including service product attachment rates, cross-sell conversion, average order value, and tool adoption. This role manages no direct reports but actively elevates the entire function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive Extra Product Sales: Create training programs, guidebooks, and coaching frameworks that give field technicians and support reps the skills to offer extra products, while mentoring junior specialists on the team to run their own successful projects.

  • Track & Improve Sales Metrics: Measure pitch frequency, customer acceptance, and total extra revenue brought in—translating this data into clear performance updates for company executives.

  • Find Sales Opportunities: Look at daily customer conversations and service visits to find natural moments where offering a product upgrade makes sense.

  • Build Simple Playbooks & Guides: Create clear step-by-step guides, cheat sheets, and handling-objection tips so service teams can easily talk to customers about extra options.

  • Align Teams Across the Business: Work closely with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations to make sure everyone agrees on product offerings and frontline incentives.

  • Improve Daily Tools & Workflows: Make sure the software, apps, and forms used by field technicians and support reps make it easy to pitch and log a new sale.
  • Staff Revenue Enablement Specialist responsibilities include:
  • Autonomously map out big-picture plans and sales goals for major new product launches or service offers.
  • Get buy-in from senior leaders to include simple sales steps in everyday customer service routines.
  • Figure out why frontline staff might hesitate to offer products (like fear of sounding pushy) and design training that makes pitching feel natural and helpful.
  • Host planning sessions and workshops with senior directors to keep revenue goals aligned.
  • Set team standards for measuring project success, tracking employee learning, and organizing work materials.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications, and other skills)

Knowledge

  • Expert understanding of how to train and support frontline service teams to make extra sales during routine customer interactions.
  • Clear grasp of key sales metrics (like offer rates, conversion rates, and average sale amount) and how to improve them.
  • Understanding of service offerings like warranties, system upgrades, protection plans, or recurring maintenance programs.
  • Ability to bring order and clear direction to complex, unstructured projects.
  • Experience with residential solar, battery storage, or home service operations is a big plus.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in project leadership, training, operations, or sales support.
  • Proven track record of running programs that successfully increased sales of secondary products or service plans.
  • Strong background in using customer data to figure out what training or tools the team needs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or equivalent track record preferred
  • Career-long demonstration of full independence and the ability to define and drive an enablement agenda without direction

Competencies

  • Exceptional ability to lead, align, and influence at all levels of the organization without direct authority
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft and Google Platforms, process mapping tools, and operational analytics
  • Executive-level communication skills, including the ability to set the enablement performance narrative for senior audiences
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to govern a broad portfolio of complex initiatives autonomously

Personal Attributes

  • The deepest employee advocate on the team  brings a systems-level perspective on how every process and tooling decision impacts the frontline experience
  • Fully self-directed with a complete ownership mindset  defines their own mandate and delivers without being asked
  • Models enablement execution excellence and sets the standard for quality and rigor across the function
  • Thrives in ambiguity and complexity, consistently creating momentum on the most difficult initiatives
  • Visionary in thinking, relentless in execution  equally at home shaping long-term enablement direction and driving ground-level delivery

Physical Demands
