POSITION SUMMARY


The Manager, Interconnection- Multifamily is responsible for ensuring successful utility interconnection for Sunrun customers.
This person will lead a team of interconnection experts and leaders who are laser focused on understanding utility requirements, making high quality submissions, building great relationships and fast turnaround times. The Manager, Interconnection will own planning, pipeline execution, performance management, and ongoing process improvements for the Multifamily interconnection pipeline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  •  Lead team of employee and vendor resources to obtain utility interconnection for Sunrun customers within their regions with a focus on overall customer satisfaction.
  • Establish operational objectives including forecasting and tracking interconnection volume and cycle time along with required headcount and budget.
  • Manage pipeline execution for interconnection, monitor upstream performance and implement proactive processes to reduce cycle time and rework
  • Set performance standards and targets for Interconnection team members and utilize scorecards, tools, and other systems to manage team performance
  • Identify pipeline issues, trends and concerns. Implement mitigating actions, and work with stakeholders across the business to implement policy and process changes in response to changing utility requirements.
  • Deliver overall pipeline performance and cycle time insights to the Director of Rebates and Interconnection and other regional partners in the business.
  • Regularly meet with other department leadership such as Install teams, Sales, Design, Permitting and Project Management on pipeline progress and cycle times, ensuring customers are activated as expediently at possible
  • Build strong working relationships with utilities and incentive programs, fostering a collaborative spirit to drive process simplification and fast issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Products and Policy to launch new markets and products.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase realization. Work cross functionally with stakeholders to drive larger-scale changes and improve operations
  • Drive performance expectations and metrics including permit and IX application submission and approval timelines, corrections, and PTO cycle timelines
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the team on Interconnection processes and resolve any outstanding issues that arise; escalate issues to upper management as needed
  • Establish and maintain professional business relations with utilities to ensure a high level of service and customer satisfaction. Educate these groups on multifamily processes
  • Train and onboard new hires to the team; develop and update training materials
  • Recommend and implement changes and best practices interconnection processes and to overall project lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in Project Management, Operations, Construction with experience in permitting and/or interconnection, preferably within the solar industry
Preferrable 2+ years of progressive leadership positions
Strong understanding of solar and storage utility interconnection and incentives
History of leading teams with direct impact on customer experience and organizational financial outcomes.

Risk analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to provide solutions to the benefit of the company and projects
Proven experience in managing, motivating, training and developing remote teams
Demonstrated ability to establish operational objectives, plan and prioritize to achieve team goals, able to quickly pivot based on impact or importance
Skilled in defining efficient and repeatable processes to drive consistent outcomes at scale. Direct experience driving process improvements for the team to drive scale into the organization
Ability to untangle complicated situations and define a clear path forward
History of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence positive outcomes and drive issues to resolution

Ability to read and understand plan sets

Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed 

Excellent customer service skills 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must thrive in a fast paced and changing business environment due to an industry that continues to grow and evolve
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, Google Suite, and reporting tools.

-Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work
-Ability to interact and participate in meetings

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$97,004.65 to $129,339.53
